Mechwarrior MMO … looks like its going the free to play, fixed arena map route, so if its like World of Tanks its going to be fun. My favourite mech of all time was the Marauder.
Mass Effect 3 … despite poor reviews of the ending, I’ll probably pick this up after the dust settled down. Femshep voice actor is the same for the feamle Trooper class in SWTOR.
Guild Wars 2, pre-orders start on April 10. I’m interested to see how a bunch of mechanics work in this: active dodging, no holy trinity, and a whole bar of mechanics for when you are ‘dying’ on the ground.
Mists of Pandaria for WoW, press exposure week this week, next week the deluge of information begins.
World of Tanks, patch 7.2 will rebalance the economy, and reduce the cost of mountable gear, so I am saving my silvers for bigger, faster guns. Just researched the Tier VII Josef Stalin tank … and so far its annoyingly fragile.
Dragon Age RPG, set 3 is in open playtest, so hopefully only a few months away. Recent sessions have reinforced my thoughts that you could do an entire gaming expansion based purely on a fantasy shopping experience.
SWTOR, patch 1.2 will fix a few things that annoy me. I’m having more fun now I’m back playing a healer, but I’m still not sold long-term on the game.
I’m over swtor, it seems like the end is. Poorly design, though I will resubmit for a month to get to 50 and server safer when that comes up.
I hope much warrior is good, I miss that style of game, also you could have some awesome group pvp stuff, and inner sphere vs clan etc.
One thing they are planning, is an advancing timeline, on a one day real time = one day game time nature. So that coud suit the clan wars quite well.
By strange coincidence some friends and I have recently been eyeing up Mechwarrior Online as well. It’s obviously still a ways away so one of them sent the following to tide us over:
Heya,
I found this last night, a free official copy of MechCommander 2, downloadable direct from Microsoft.
I grabbed a copy last night, took about an hour to download, and it ran quite easily under win7, at a good speed
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=11457
It’s a full open source release, so the default extract folder is MC2SourceCode or something, I just changed that to MC2, and the installer doesn’t create shortcuts to the exe, so you just have to hunt for MC2Rel.exe in one of the subfolders, dump a shortcut on your desktop and run that…
Works perfectly though 🙂
Playing ME3 atm and loving it. The US$10 DLC at game launch was a bit annoying but worth getting IMO as the party member adds a lot in terms of game flavour/history. I like the game dynamic of trying to cobble together an alliance and it’s nice that they’ve removed the mining format from ME2.
Lots of folks seem a bit dispirited with the IS when they get it. It’s probably the worst out of the T29/Tiger/IS trio but it’s not entirely bad. I guess perhaps the grind is the price you pay for the tanky goodness that follows it. IS3 & 4 look very decent.
I’m still subbed to SWTOR but hardly ever have time to play it. I was pretty bummed at both my toon names being taken already when the Oceania server went up. Particularly Pox, I really like it as a BH name – grrrrrr.
Yep, I didn;t log on in time to get “Thursday”, but I’ll just have to think of a better name for my agent.
Btw, not sure if you’re a fan of the original top-down turn-based games like Fallout 1 & 2 but just in case:
